Crabbing under the Golden Gate Bridge
We will meet at a pier in the Marina/Presidio district of San Francisco where we will be located near the Golden Gate Bridge. The views of the water will be spectacular and because of the size of the pier we will have more than enough room to spread out and try our techniques. Make sure to arrive early so you can find parking and pay for it if need be near The Warming Hut cafe.
Once all the guests have arrived we will learn to set up the equipment we will supply with a very detailed explanation of how and why we use particular gear. Once we have set up our rods, filled our bait in our traps we will learn the different forms of casting and the technique of reeling. Because we are fishing for crab there is a different approach to how you catch crab off of a rod and reel.
We will not be allowed to take home any Dungeness crab, unfortunately, because the Bay is a protected estuary. As a result we will be catching rock & red crab which are edible and delicious crabs to take home. This experience is an all weather endeavor so rain or shine we will make it happen.
Please join me as many others have to see if spending an afternoon out on the waterfront of the bay, meeting new people and learning a skill is right for you!
Great for big groups, corporate outings and team building exercises! Please inquire directly if you have 10+ people

San Francisco Bay Sailing Awesomeness
Get a taste for what an awesome experience living, working and voyaging on a sailboat can be, while viewing fantastic landmarks from the uncrowded deck, using sustainable and eco friendly wind power. Perhaps choose an evening sail, and enjoy a wonderful sunset. We will be outside only, with plenty of space, breathing clean Pacific air!
Get a little salty while we sail and chat about what it's like going far from land and crossing oceans, from endless waves and wind, to calm nights under starry skies. Get a feel for what it's like to live and thrive in a constantly moving small space, in a beautiful but unforgiving environment.
Hear what it's like to battle Tuna and Sailfish while under sail, and have the freshest sushi minutes later. And to anchor in tropical anchorages, bathe in the sea, and surf uncrowded waves right from the boat.
Ask as little or as much as you like about surviving storms, living in foreign countries, meeting great cruising friends, and unplugging from normal living to find another path. Perhaps, ask how you can get started yourself.
Spend time aboard a beautiful, ocean-going yacht that has provided a safe and peaceful haven for her crew over the span of two decades in a green, earth friendly fashion.

Sausalito's Headlands & The Golden Gate
Join a local guide for a scenic and insightful walk on San Francisco Bay. Enjoy the beauty of the coastal parklands just outside Sausalito in the Marin Headlands. See San Francisco from an open-sided, custom-built 'woody'
I craft one four-hour adventure to capture the essence of San Francisco each morning. Each day is built just for the small group and unique goings on in the City that day. The itinerary is open - we will always stop at San Francisco’s classic landmarks like the Golden Gate Bridge and Twin Peaks and typically roll through neighborhoods like North Beach, Pacific Heights, Haight-Ashbury, Castro, and the Embarcadero.
We will also leave big buses behind to explore street-art alleys in the Mission, mosaic stairways in the Sunset, the laid-back vibe of the Presidio, our Beaux-Arts City Hall, the famous “Painted Ladies” at Alamo Square, or go down the real crookedest street in San Francisco (not Lombard). It all depends on what's best just that day.
It's a long morning, so midway through we will stop at a local market where the group can get a quick lunch and do some local people watching. We will finish in the Fisherman's Wharf area in the early afternoon. If your afternoon plans take you elsewhere, we can find a mutually convenient end point.

Pottery in the Mission
We will start with some of the interesting history of the studio space. Then I will get you situated on the wheel and show you how to properly secure your lump of clay. After the clay is secured we start the wheel spinning nice and fast. I will show you how to center the clay which is a very important (and frustrating) stage of making pottery on the wheel. After we successfully center the clay, you will explore how the clay moves and reacts to your touch. We will work to form a simple shape such as a bowl or cup. To finish off we will do some clean up of the form and remove the piece from the wheel in order to start experimenting with the next piece. You can expect to get to practice with around 6 lumps of clay (more if you are ambitious) and most people will create 2-3 pieces by the end of the session.
Pieces will be professionally finished, fired, and glazed after the experience. This process takes at least 3 weeks. After the pieces are finished you can pickup in the studio or they can be shipped. Shipping costs are paid by the guest.
Other things to note
Come wearing clothes that you don't mind getting messy. We will provide aprons. If you have long hair plan to have a hair tie or a way to secure your hair back. Trim long nails if you are able.
LGBTQ Castro Tours
Explore the largest sexual and gender diverse community in the world and cruise the Castro like a local on this fun and fascinating two-hour LGBTQ cultural walk. As a long-time resident and civil rights activist, I'll show you why diversity is celebrated as we meet real people with real stories in this beautiful village of rainbows. Offering the most comprehensive LGBTQ tour in the world, you'll visit twice as many historical sites than any other tour experience. Discover how the Gold Rush, World War II, civil rights leader Harvey Milk, the AIDS epidemic, and the Rainbow Honor Walk created such a strong and progressive LGBTQ community. Learn how LGBTQ equality and civil rights are still being fought for in the United States today.
Private groups of 10 or more can be accommodated on a request basis and are subject to availability.
Other things to note
Fortunately, San Francisco's weather is mostly mild year round so tours operate rain or shine. Please dress accordingly. Our route is easy, with no large hills and is handicapped accessible. There will be adult content.
The Surreal San Francisco Walking Tour
PLEASE NOTE: this is NOT a regular walking tour.
It’s an edgy, outrageous, uniquely-San Franciscan experience.
Have a few laughs with storyteller-extraordinaire Clyde Always, the Bard of Bay City, former headliner at these local venues: the Marsh Theater, the Lost Church and Café International on Haight.
You’ll be dazzled by many of Clyde’s own modern MYTHS, LEGENDS, FABLES and FAIRYTALES. They may feature witches & pirates, hobos & hipster-devils... Make sure you bring your imagination.
In between these zany stories, your host will be pointing out various dives, murals, coffeehouses, landmarks, shops and stunning Victorians—no shortage of grammable photo-ops, here.
Miles away from the rest of the tourists, you’ll get some insider knowledge of three of the City’s hippest neighborhoods—the Mission, the Castro and the Haight.
Looking for fun things to do and delicious things to eat? Clyde’s got the hot tips.
BE WARNED! Your host is a fast-talker and he may tell you a few phony “facts.” Take anything he says with a grain of salt.
If you’re offended by profanity, soap will be provided (but bring your own water).
Scared of heights? Rest easy—the route involves no hill climbing!
This stroll is guaranteed to entertain, enliven and uplift both visitors and locals alike.
**Please, for PRIVATE GROUPS, DM to check availability before booking. **
