The MORNING GROUP WALKING TOUR of Palermo lasts 3 hours. My group tour is not just a food tour, but it's a mix of history, culture, architecture, monuments and street food. On a typical lesson day we meet in the morning at one of Palermo’s oldest markets, shop around for any items we will need for the lesson and then stroll to the air-conditioned kitchen in The Sicilian Pantry cookery school where we prepare a 4 course Sicilian meal, learning the techniques and tricks needed to recreate it when you return home. Meals are made up of a starter, pasta course, main course and desert (changes can be made for individuals with specific dietary requirements where appropriate). After the lesson we can sit down together to enjoy the fruits of our labour along with a selection of Sicilian wines rounded off with some homemade liqueurs and coffee. We'll move along the North coast close to the town of Terrasini, snorkeling, relaxing and discovering the Mediterranean environment. The spots are rather ROCKY with a very clean blue and turquoise water. To finish the day we'll go to explore some natural hot springs along a river, relaxing in the warm water. This tour will be the best way to discover and enjoy the Sicily's seaside. It's up to the host (and conditions) to start the tour visiting a nice sandy beach. Lunch is around 1.30 p.m. with the possibility to eat traditional pasta with fresh fish, street food or ice cream (lunch not included). We will cruise the waters of Siracusa enjoying the sights of Ortigia on board of my Tahiti Ketch, a 30 feet classic sailboat designed in U.S.A. in 1922. According to the weather conditions we will lead to the Marine Protected Area of Plemmirio where we will stop for swimming, sorrounded by nature. We sometime meet dolphins and other sea creatures in this area. While we will be sailing I would like you to help me trying your hand at ruddering Fiesta and trimming the sails with me, as part of the crew. Then we will celebrate the sunset with a nice aperitif in the bay, having a delicious tasting of food and wines made by local farmers and producers. That is the best way to enjoy our sunset. Faremo Escursioni organizzate sull'Etna, il vulcano più attivo e alto d'Europa. Il tour prevede: pick-up con il mio furgone 9 posti alle 8.30 del mattino da Catania centro da punti strategici come Stazione Centrale, Piazza Alcalà, Piazza Stesicoro, Piazza Borgo . Visiteremo una grotta di scorrimento lavico. Faremo un trekking di 3 h, con un dislivello di 500 metri e 5-6 km dai 1800 metri s.l.m. fino ai 2300/2400,attraversando ambienti desertico vulcanici,crateri e i diversi colori di montagna. Il pranzo è a sacco e il rientro a Catania previsto per le 15.30. Gruppo minimo 2 persone.

Una full immersion nel vulcano attivo più alto d'Europa, che da millenni affascina filosofi, artisti, scienziati e viaggiatori provenienti da ogni parte del mondo. Durante l'esperienza, attraversando paesini etnei dal caratteristico color nero "basalto" e la lussureggiante campagna etnea, raggiungeremo il punto di partenza del nostro percorso di trekking. Sarà sorprendente camminare tra fitti boschi di betulle, pino o faggio, per poi improvvisamente attraversare quella che i locali conosciamo come "Sciara", il desolatamente affascinante deserto vulcanico. Ammireremo tutta la bellezza e le contraddizioni di questo vulcano sempre in trasformazione: tra crateri estinti, paesaggi ora brulli ora lussureggianti, con una flora "eroica" che si è adattata a condizioni estreme. Durante il percorso di trekking che durerà 4h, scopriremo i vari ed interessanti fenomeni vulcanici etnei, faremo un pic-nic nel bosco durante il quale vi offrirò un bicchiere di vino etneo. Sarà un'esperienza autentica, durante la quale vi racconterò la nostra "Muntagna", dalla prospettiva di chi l'ha sempre vissuta dalle sue pendici. Vi parlerò di storia geologica, flora e fauna. Vi racconterò la mia terra anche dal punto di vista storico, antropologico, linguistico ed enogastronomico. Ma soprattutto proverò a trasmettere il viscerale legame che esiste da ormai tre millenni tra la terra vulcanica e le sue genti

You will walk with me or one of my fellow team members through the main roads and the back streets of the picturesque old town. You will learn about the Mafia, its brutal violence and its business, as well as about the people who stood up against the power of the organised crime. We will stop in front of monuments, memorials and shops, each is connected with a particular aspect of our story. Sometimes a small detail, that seems unsignificant at first glance, has a story behind it that is worth to be told. An example: Addiopizzo stickers on the shops windows we will see along the walking tour. They belongs to shopkeepers who have said NO to the protection money! You will also have the chance to support them, just buying a gelato, some local products or a souvenir of Palermo. Other things to note: You can recognize me because at the meeting point I will have a "No Mafia" backpack on my shoulder. IMPORTANT! I GUIDE YOU OUT OF TOURISTS TRACKS! WE ARE TWO GUIDES MANAGING THE EXPERIENCE, TO MEET THE GROUP AND INDIVIDUAL NEEDS. We climb up the slopes of the Etna volcano, encountering different landscapes; forest, lava desert, caves/lava tube (this is not 100% sure), sandy deserts and other amazing points of views! Then, we get to a perfect place to observe the summit craters and the Bove Valley (the biggest one on Mt.Etna), the reason why Mt.Etna is part of the UNESCO heritage! Walking along the ridge, you will enjoy the view of the active summit craters, of the Ionian sea and of the Italian peninsula. We will descend through fun sandy canyons, which will take us to the top of some ancient craters born during last years! To get to the meeting point : - By rental car, there is a big parking. - By BUS : get BRT1 Bus line (the fast bus line in Catania). Other things to note: This is not an experience for tourists but for travelers that love walking, trekking and the adventure. I will give to you the best I can, this is my mission !

Mondello o Capo Zafferano EXPERIENCE La nostra Esperienza inizia alle 10 del mattino con l'appuntamento al molo presso la Marina Galizzi in via Filippo Patti a Palermo, dopo un piccolo succo di benvenuto, cominceremo la navigazione in direzione del golfo di Mondello o verso Capo Zafferano. Usciti dal porto potremmo issare le vele ed il comandante vi darà le nozioni base della vela. Durante la navigazione quasi alle falde di Monte Pellegrino vicino il porto dell'Acquasanta o in alternativa andremo verso Capo Zafferano, gli ospiti potranno vivere un'esperienza unica ed ammirare le nostre meravigliose coste. Giunti in rada nel mare cristallino, vicino alla riserva di Capo Gallo, gli ospiti potranno fare il bagno e poi degustare le nostre pietanze culinarie locali. Dopo un pò di relax si salperà per il rientro al pontile dove arriveremo intorno le 18. Durante la nostra esperienza sarà possibile pescare a traina grazie all'attrezzatura di bordo. Nel caso in cui le condizioni meteo marine sono avverse l'escursione verrà se possibile rimandata a data da destinarsi o totalmente rimborsata.

After pick up,Etna direction! Passing through trazzere, where we can see the lava flows (1792), where I will explain the fauna and flora of volcano Etna,telling you the Mount Etna history. Arrive at an altitude of 2000 meters above sea level,starts our trekking off the turistic path, Direction Bove Valley, the ancient caldera formed about 64,000 years ago due to a collapse of two major eruptive centers. where we can admire the silvestri craters, the recent lava flows,south east active crater and a great view of Catania and ionion cost. During the hiking we stop to eat a sandwich gourmet with local product ( you can buy the sandwich,before the hiking). Other things to note Our experience is a mountain hiking with a good slope, it is suitable for everyone with good mobility and good phisical shape. It not suitable for people with low physical fitness, breathing problems and heart problems.

Walking along the paths Europe's largest volcano, you'll admire the impressive volcanic structure with its typical flora and fauna. We will cross Deserts of black sand, Woods, Ancient and Recent Lava Flows and Old Craters in order to admire the fascinating VALLE DEL BOVE. We will also enter lava tubes, created during the volcano's eruptions, equipped with a helmet and flashlights. It'll be fascinating to descover not only their creation but also the secrets they so jelously conceal in their darkness. Difficulty: Medium Itinerary length: about 5.5 km Maximum altitude: about 2100 m Trekking duration: 3-3.5 hours approx Difference in altitude: about 350 m The route in the event of adverse weather conditions or real safety risks can be changed at the discretion of the guide In this adventure you will be accompanied by me or by my co hosts, enthusiasts and experts of Etna! Other things to note The duration of the experience is indicative. Unforeseeable situations could cause the experience to end at a different time. IMPORTANTE: Tutte le escursioni vengono eseguite nel rispetto dei livelli del rischio vulcanico per cui, il tour potrebbe subire variazioni in base al livello di criticità dell'attività Incontro e partenza dal Piazzale Rifugio Sapienza presso l' Info Point Ashàra. Dopo un breve briefing, avrà inizio l’escursione che ci condurrà in cima a quota 3340mslm. Con la Funivia dell’Etna guadagneremo velocemente quota fino a 2500 mslm e di seguito con speciali Pulmini 4x4, saliremo ulteriormente fino a 2750 mslm. Da quota 2750 mslm inizierà la salita fino a 3340 mslm di circa 2 ore ove effettueremo 2-3 pause intermedie per goderci il panorama percorrendo dei campi lavici dall’aspetto lunare che ci condurranno proprio al Cratere Centrale dell'Etna, dove potremmo ammirare le peculiarità vulcaniche e geologiche che caratterizzano l’area sommitale. Attraversando la terrazza craterica visiteremo anche gli altri crateri sommitali. Successivamente, in discesa, divertenti sabbioni ci condurranno ai crateri del 2002-2003 e muniti di caschetto visiteremo un canale di scorrimento lavico. Dopo aver ammirato la grande Valle del Bove, ritornati a 2500 mslm la funivia ci riporterà al punto di partenza. I biglietti di funivia e unimog 4x4 (50€ a persona) non sono inclusi nel prezzo e dovranno essere pagati poi in contanti al nostro info point

Depending on the season, we might pick olives, wild asparagus, wild herbs, oranges, lemons, etc..
