La Jolla Bay is a Marine Protected Area that is home to a thriving ecosystem that boasts a high concentration of sea life, has a natural boat launch, which allows safe ocean entry year-round, and is famous for its Sea Caves and Marine Reserve. No experience is required. Great for all skill levels. Your guide will kick things off with a paddle tutorial on the beach. If surf exists, we will help push your kayak through any breakers. As we paddle through La Jolla’s Marine Reserve keep an eye out for Seals, Sea Lions, Sea Turtles, Pelicans, Dolphin and Gray whales in the fall/winter. Note: We cannot guarantee sea life. Join us in the barn and pasture for farm animal fun at Adobe Acres Ranch! You will get to pet, feed, brush, and take selfies with our herd of happy farm animals and get to learn what it's like having miniature potbellied pigs, goats, sheep, miniature donkeys, and chickens for the evening during this farm adventure! The guided Farm Visit is approximately 1hr long and will start in the pasture with our four miniature pigs (such an oxymoron, though! They're still pretty big!) where you can add food to their bowls and watch them chow down... as you can imagine pigs do :) Then, we will tour the west barn and see their night enclosures where we will touch on the topic of backcountry animal husbandry and answer any questions you have about caring for farm animals. We are happy to introduce you to the 60-minute Glow Boat Experience on pedal boats! A romantic night date idea in San Diego Bay! The boat illuminates 360 degrees inside and outside, and it is a lot of fun riding it after dark. To complete your experience, a Bluetooth speaker will make your boat rock'n'roll. Our crew will guide everyone through Night Bay to ensure you feel safe and know where to go. On an average night, we have 12 Glow boats and two boats with our safety crew. Kayak the beautiful La Jolla Ecological Reserve in a small group no larger than 6 with an experienced local naturalist. If you have a larger group you would like to take, that can also be accommodated. On the day of our adventure we will meet at the La Jolla Shores Boat Launching Area. I will wear bright clothing for easy visibility. From there we will walk about 5 minutes along the beach to our own launch location. Our tour will include all gear (life jackets, paddles, kayaks) and small water boxes for your personal items. You can take these boxes with you while on the tour. After a brief introduction we'll immediately depart on our tour. YOU WILL GET WET! But that's half the fun, so make sure to wear appropriate clothing. Our tour takes you on a beautiful journey through the La Jolla Ecological Reserve Underwater Park, a Marine Protected Area. We will visit and see multiple habitats to include the rocky shoreline, ocean and cave systems adjacent to La Jolla Cove. Along our travels we will likely see leopard sharks, rays, California sea lions, multiple species of sea birds, Garibaldi (the state salt water fish of California), green sea turtles and more.
