country retreat "Woodbine" circa 1800This house is a great country retreat. Near the Mattiponi River, nestled in the tidewater countryside. 1 hour to Richmond or Williamsburg. It's an 1800's English basement house, guests have access to the first floor including living room, bedroom, dining room, kitchen and laundry, screened front porch and back deck. While fires are not allowed inside the house's fireplaces there is an outdoor fire-ring. If you travel with your pet Woodbine will not be able to accommodate your needs.
George Washington slept here!Welcome to Travelers Rest, a historic twenty-three acre farm located in scenic King and Queen County, Virginia. As the name suggests, travelers and tobacco rollers would often stop to refresh themselves, as well as their horses, from the stream that flows at the foot of the hill. Even one of our very own founding fathers himself, George Washington, would stop and rest here on his travels to and from his home at Mount Vernon and Williamsburg - now you can do the same!
