We are so blessed to have had excellent guests the last year stay with us and are pleased that a majority of our guests are returning guests! We have decided to lower our rates since people have treated or place so well! It’s is such a pleasure to offer a family affordable vacation location! At 8300 feet elevation, this 392 square foot tiny-house is completely off grid and solar-powered. Enjoy tiny-luxury! Fully powered, running hot water, full kitchen, full bath, and cozy dining area. Grab a hot cup of tea or coffee and watch the deer and elk frolic in the meadow alongside our horses and cow every morning as you relax at the outdoor dining area or sit on the tree swing. In the evening, grill up some steaks or burgers. At night, bring your telescope and do some stargazing in the darkest of skies or just lay on the trampoline and look up… It’s absolutely breathtaking! Listen for owls and watch the nighthawks dart to and fro. Inside, a cute spiral staircase leads to the sleeping loft which is divided by a closet for some privacy. We have a pack n play and high chair available for little ones. In the summer, bring the cousins or all your best friends and set up a tent on the grass. Plan on bringing your own extra linens/towels for extra guests. The instant hot water heater utilizes battery ignition; the stove and oven are propane to further the efficiency. We truck water up the mountain and store it underground so we ask all our guests to be very Water Conservative. You’ll be surprised at the efficiency of the space that accomodated our family of 5 for nearly 2 years while we built our dream home! We hope you enjoy the great sleep in this quiet place and the rejuvenation of the wide open outdoors! The cabin is on a 40 acre private meadow with ultimate quiet and privacy.

Our property is located in hunting unit 7 East. Hunting? Bring your girlfriend, or wife and kids to beat the roughing-it blues!
Want some snowplay without the dangerous highway and fighting crowds? Our private winter oasis is just the spot!
Put your feet up by the wood stove and grab a cup of hot cocoa after making igloos and sledding. Play a game or do a puzzle while you watch the beautiful snow falling.

The property is located approximately 5 miles off scenic highway 180 down a forest service road. The road is in good shape during the summer months with just a few rocks to watch. During winter you MUST have a 4WD vehicle to access the property, particularly if there has been a significant snowfall recently. During a snowy period, access may require either cross country skiing, snowshoeing or snowmobiling to the property from the main highway (approx 5 miles). If you get stuck on the road it will be your own responsibility. Let’s be in touch a couple days prior to your visit to check on road conditions during the winter.

In historic potato ranch! Original settlement area for 1920’s farmers of sheep and high altitude potatoes. Hikers’ playground! Most people in the area have private vacation homes so you won’t see many people around. There are mountain bike races that come thru the Arizona trail and lots of campers and hunters.

My family and I have been living in Flagstaff since 2007 and love it here. We love the small town feel with lots of outdoorsy people. We love farm-style life and bought our 11 acres in 2017 with the intention of eventually starting a high-altitude dairy farm. Raising and homeschooling our 4 kids has taken priority for now, but we still have horses and chickens and do a little hobby garden. My husband loves running and mountain biking insane distances (in my opinion) And we live in the perfect place to hop on a bike off the front porch and go anywhere! For me, I’d prefer to take my horse all over these hills and I doubt I’ll ever be able to explore every place! So fun!
Indoors, we are foodies! We love quality and make things like our own aged cheeses from our backyard cow. Once we made a pizza with a cheese crust and left out the bread altogether. I have celiac disease but love to bake so I’ve invented and experimented a lot! I love quilting and sewing of all kinds, paper crafting, and card making. Teaching and biology are really my passion tho, as these little people God has blessed us with are so precious to us!
Recently my husband is interested in the woodsman thing and has bought a band saw sawmill with his best buddy. They have been making log cabins and lumber so far and plan to make a barn and garage someday.
