What Exactly Is A Bed & Breakfast ?

This is a question that we, as Bed & Breakfast owners , hear quite often. Sometimes this question is asked as potential guests are on the phone with us about to make a reservation, and sometimes it is asked apprehensively as we are checking a guest in to our bed and breakfast.
Many people envision that a stay at a bed and breakfast includes having the owners “live among” the guests, sleeping in bedrooms in close proximity to the owners and having breakfast at the owner’s breakfast table. Others envision where a home owner simply rents out a bedroom in their house and your stay is spent side by side with the homeowner.
While the two aforementioned examples may have slight similarities to a bed and breakfast of old, in more ways those examples are very different from an experience you would encounter today at a bed & breakfast, especially at Paperbark Bed and Breakfast.
A stay at Paperbark bed and breakfast means:
* You are staying at a professionally licensed business that follows safety and business regulations.
* Your breakfasts are prepared in a licensed and inspected kitchen.(Brisbane City Council)
* Although the B&B is our primary residence, we have seperate private quarters on property, this is also required by Council.
