This homestay is a part of Hum Sab Ek hain (We are One) initiative of SEWA. Our homestay offers you the incredible experience of village life in the ancient village of Bakutra. The White desert of Rann of Kutch is just 200kms away from our home.

There is one room with 3 beds and an attached bath. It is perfect for a small group of explorers who prefer a peaceful environment, away from the bustling city. It’s an environment friendly home with solar lights in the rooms.

Located in the ancient village of Bakutra in Gujarat. The room is spacious, well-lit and ventilated. There is a verandah outside where you and sit and enjoy the village life passing you by. We live in a separate house which is adjoining this room. There is a non-attached bathroom adjacent to your rooms. Enjoy authentic Gujarati cuisine for breakfast, lunch and dinner. There are basic utensils and supplies in the kitchen to make tea/coffee. The house is surrounded with lush green trees and traditional chairs and beds can be used to sit and unwind.

Rann of kutch is the most favorite tourist attraction around our village. It is a beautiful landscape of white salt and blue sky. Looks the best in a full moon night. You can see how the village entertainment includes playing of traditional musical instruments. You can also find out how the wool of sheep is used to make different products. Take a stroll and cherish the quaint houses of the Rabri community.

I have been a proud member of SEWA (Self Employed Women's Association) for the past 27 years. I have two children and my husband is also associated with SEWA. SEWA organizes self-employed women workers across 13 Indian States in the informal economy towards two major goals of full employment and self-reliance in India.

I and my colleague, Yusuf Khan manage the community center at Radhanpur. Yusuf bhai has been with us since 1992. In Radhanpur, our sisters (members) are involved in different crafts that help us maintain our culture, showcase it to the world via exhibitions in India and other countries like Sri Lanka, US, etc.
We've hosted people for almost all SAARC countries who come to our district for training purposes. We're proud of our creations under a brand called, Hansiba.

Come stay with us and get to know more about the culture of our communities, get involved in the work we do at our SEWA Center Textile Lab, see the beautiful sites in the vicinity such as, Rani Ki Vav (step well) and enjoy authentic lip-smacking Gujarati cuisine!
