Betws Y Coed was developed for the needs of travellers and visitors, and it still caters effectively in that well established role.

Its coaching inns were essential on the early routes through Snowdonia to Ireland. Further hotels were added when the Victorians' taste for native and wilderness tied in with their need for a warm welcome and comfortable accommodation.

It is a centre for all seasons, situated within reach of excellent lake, rive and woodland walks in the Snowdonia valleys. Surrounding hills offer panoramic views. Whether the peaks of Eryri are white with snow, draped in autumn colours, under mist and rain, or bright and clear on a summer afternoon, Betws Y Coed offers the ideal base for a leisurely walk or relaxing day out in the mountains.

A newcomer would be forgiven for thinking the whole place was invented entirely for the tourist trade. Its quality shops and galleries, its attractive cafes and restaurants and riverside setting have a magnetism which visitors find hard to resist. In fact, the heart of the village is not that old and new developments are witnessed annually.

But if the place has evolved over the years, thanks to the locals, it has not lost its charm or rich inheritance. For there is iso much more to Betws Y Coed than meets the eye. It was founded around the enclosure of its old church on the river bank- Betws Y Coed literally means ' a house of prayer in the woods'. Lead mining and slate quarrying heritage offers places of interest along its pathways and due to its natural beauty, it is not surprising that it was a haven for landscape artists in the 19th century.

The National Park is a picturesque, tourist village close to the best walks in Wales close to the base of Snowdon. The area has an Alpine quality and feel. with Some lovely eateries and shops within walking distance to Coedfa. Close to amazing beaches in Porthmadog, Lleyn Peninsula and Anglesey Accessible to many attractions

The unique Artist Colony of Betws Y Coed (Snowdonia National Park) is a short walk from Coedfa.

There are several marked walks, mountain biking routes from Coedfa house, shops/bars/ restaurants/golf and the leisure facilities all within close proximity.

Hi my name is Beth Evans. My husband and I have owned Coedfa House and Coedfa Bach for 22 yrs

We took several years to refurbish and enjoyed living at the property for 5 years. Having our wedding party at the property as well as our youngest son born at Coedfa bring very special memories to us both.

Coedfa Bach sleeps 4 has been a holiday cottage for the 22 years and Coedfa House sleeps 8 has been a holiday house for 17 years.

You can book both properties which sleeps 12 in total.

Coedfa is a Victorian Property know as an Estate house in its time. Having a walled garden to the back of the property which was behind an outbuilding which is now a pretty cottage (separate owner) The Estate owned the woodland for several miles towards Pentrefoelas (now under separate ownership)

Now Coedfa has a 3/4 acre garden which lies to either side of the property and a large gravelled yard to the front. The garden comprises of patios, lawned, terraces, stream, rockery, woodland, azalea garden and a rhododendron section.

The house is grand, specious with large rooms and high ceilings. Coedfa Bach is quaint, cosy and charming.

Coedfa looks down onto the famous Thomas Telford, Waterloo Bridge and up towards the magnificent Lledr valley and the river Llugwy. It is a short walk to the village centre with its hustle bustle activities from tasteful fashionable shops to an abundance of choice for outdoor gear. A selection of eateries from bars, cafes and restaurants.
