An airy duplex with high ceilings and lots of windows onto the Harris Neck National Wildlife Refuge. See the native waterfowl, or the hundreds of migrating birds of the Eastern Flyway. Ten minutes from I-95, Exit 67. Only yards to the public saltwater ramp, with access to the Intracoastal Waterway and the islands . Starlander Ltd.: The XL Suite, w/ private bath

The Starlander suites are within a 1920s townhouse that's part home (mine), part guest house, part art gallery, and a little bit library (I have a few books). I've travelled to over 70 countries, and my favorite stays were not in hotels, but in small guest houses and hostels with private rooms available. I liked the home-grown character of these places, and the chance to interact with the hosts and other guests. I hope to give others a similar opportunity in Savannah at the Starlander.

The Lake Loft in St. Simons Island

Relax at our cozy boho-feel getaway spot on Lake Turner minutes from the beach, shops, and Village. A quiet, studio-esque space walking-distance to Gascoigne Park (disc golf!), St. Simons Marina, Epworth By the Sea, and a recently added tandem kayak to play on the lake. The space features three beds, a hammock chair, mini-kitchen coffee/tea bar with Berkey water. Also a great spot to enjoy coffee in the morning sun filtering through the live oak trees above.

Lovely Loft in Starland with Private Entrance

This vacation studio was a labor of love -- I wanted to create a truly unique, comfy, open space, with a cool, eclectic vibe. We built a new bathroom and private entrance, with ceilings bumped up to the roof. We more recently added a small deck outside the guests' door, and created a funky garden/sitting area as well.
