Studio at Muckleflugga ShorestationArtists studio with kingsize bed at the historic Muckleflugga Lighthouse Shorestation. On Britain's most northerly inhabited island Unst, Shetland Isles. Hermaness National Nature reserve and Burrafirth beach on your doorstep, sea views. Working studio available to artists, walkers, Kayakers and people who just want to get away from it all. Shared evening vegetarian meals (guest cooks always welcome!) shared lounge, kitchen and bathroom. Bicycle hire can be arranged including electric bicycles. Accessible by bus from Lerwick bus station, Shetland's capital, daily service except Sundays(URL HIDDEN)There is a bar on the island, three shops, a brewery, Heritage Centre and Boat haven and cafes open in the summer. The island is 12 miles long so perfect for walking cycling and has some of the best kayaking in the UK. I am happy to take visitors walking and show you the best places to spot otters and puffins. The best times for puffins is June and early July. Also the neighbouring islands of Yell and Fetlar are perfect for day trips. I also have two bikes available for use on a donation (Dana) basis. Artists/Writers Residencies Spring & Autumn I am offering week long stays for artists and writers in my studio during April and September, a chance to work on the beautiful island of Unst.
