Welcome to The Honeypot: a peaceful, spacious, annexe sleeping 4 with 3.5 acres of gardens, access to a pool and tennis court and stunning countryside views. In the idyllic village of Bury and 1/2 way along the South Downs Way, we are ideally placed for visits to Arundel, Chichester, Goodwood and the coast. There’s a well-appointed kitchen, dining room and a large sitting room; upstairs (or via the lift) there are two large bedrooms and luxurious bathroom with shower and bath. Parking for 2 cars

We named our stunning annexe The Honeypot due to our intention to keep bees! There are none currently living on site, but many enjoy our lovely grounds. The Honeypot sleeps 4 very comfortably in a super-king room and a spacious twin room and we can also accommodate a tot in a cot in a side dressing room off the main bedroom (with blackout blinds). We have step free access from parking to the ground floor of the property, and then a fully operational electric lift for guests with additional mobility needs (only to be used for this purpose). Please speak to us at the time of booking should this be pertinent.

The warm and inviting open-air outdoor pool is kept nice and toasty from April to September (around 28-30 degrees). We have invested in solar panels in order to achieve better sustainability. The pool can be booked your own exclusive hours by prearrangement with us. We provide fluffy pool towels, robes and brand new teak steamer loungers. The pool is regularly maintained but the pool is not currently enclosed (work in progress) and there is no lifeguard so children must be supervised at all times, and please do not use the pool alone.

The outdoor tennis court with beautiful rural views can be used as much as you like. We provide a selection of rackets and balls and you don't need to be Andy Murray to have some fun!

The modern kitchen provides a sink, large family sized fridge/freezer, kettle, toaster, dishwasher, filter coffee machine and cafetière, microwave oven, and induction hobs. There is a wide variety of kitchen utensils available, and all the basics for cooking you'd expect (oil, salt, pepper). We provide a complimentary breakfast hamper stocked with locally sourced goodies and home-made bread. We would be very happy to provide further food or drink provisions by request before arrival.

The spacious living room, with views over our wild field, has various seating options, a large TV, a spacious workstation and a selection of wine glasses for special moments. We are working on our collection of books and games and would welcome feedback on this!

The bathroom comprises a WC, sink, bidet, walk-in waterfall shower, large and deep bath and heated towel rail. We keep it stocked with shampoo, shower gel, towels, and a cosmetic mirror.

The Honeypot offers free Wi-Fi access, Smart HD Ready LED TV providing access to a wide range of radio stations and apps like Netflix and Prime Video. The area generally benefits from very good mobile reception.

We take sustainability of The Honeypot very seriously indeed, and to this end we have provided as many sustainable products as we can, including the lovely Miniml products included for use during your stay;

Body Wash
Washing-up liquid
Hand wash
Antibacterial hand spray

We follow this through in details such as our compostable coffee filters, and compostable 'Scrubbies' washing up pads.

We live on site and have two children, so we are very happy to provide anything that would make your stay with children more relaxing and special. Just ask!

We are fortunate to be able to provide many lovely activities for a fee, so just ask us about;

Beauty treatments at The Honeypot
Personal Training in the garden
Swimming lessons in the pool
Yoga on the lawn
Guided walks

The Honeypot is located around 300 metres walking distance from the South Downs Way. Within walking distance are two lovely pubs, both serving lunch and dinner, and a riverside café that caters for breakfast, teas, lunch and pizzas. The village just to the north of Bury, Fittleworth, has a brilliant tea room, cafe and children's play park all in one! The nearby, picturesque village of Amberley with its pretty thatched cottages has a tea room, village store (useful for lunch supplies) and a further two pubs!

For a really special dining experience you may also wish to book the newly opened - ‘The Pig - in the South Downs’ tucked away in the small hamlet of Madehurst - just 4 miles from the Honeypot.

A unique attraction of the area is its International Dark Sky Reserve status, making our location the ideal place for a spot of stargazing. Dark Skies are areas where you can marvel at the night sky without the light pollution created by street lights etc. It makes the garden a truly wonderful spot in the evening.
If you do intend to walk at night, we would recommend bringing a head torch (and hiking boots/wellies in the winter months). During the colder months the South Downs can get rather muddy in places so if you intend to explore the area we would highly recommend bringing suitable footwear.

If you fancy a little more outdoor adventure, ‘Riverside South Downs’ is just a relaxing walk away at Houghton Bridge offering bike, boat, kayak and paddle board hire. You can drive here quickly too if that's more appealing!

Arundel, Chichester and Petworth are all within easy driving distance and we are perfectly located for Goodwood events such as the Festival of Speed, Revival and Glorious Goodwood.

Kde budete

Bury, En, Spojené kráľovstvo

Bury is a picturesque village nestling beneath the downs and beside River Arun. It is a designated international night sky reserve, which means incredible starry night views as the weather allows, and very little light pollution at all. There are many attractive old cottages, some thatched and some roofed with Horsham stone. Bury House was once the home of writer and poet John Galsworthy. The church is constructed of flint, stone and chalk, and parts of it date back to the 12th century. Nearby is the site of the old ferry, sadly no longer in existence, which used to take people across the river by punt to visit Amberley. The steps down to the river have been kept so that residents can launch their boats. Each summer the village fete is held in the beautiful grounds of Bury Manor, and is popular with locals and visitors alike. Bury has a popular pub/restaurant, The Squire & Horse, and a variety of fresh produce can be bought from the local farm which is easy walking distance from The Honeypot. It is a really peaceful and beautiful village, with ample walking opportunities for all abilities, and also close to the South Downs Way.
