We are close to all the action, yet in a bucolic rural setting with fabulous views. You will have 720 square feet of air-conditioned/ heated space to yourself, with owners steps or a text away. The retreat is the first floor of a three story barn-like house. The owners occupy the second two floors. You have your own entrance, porch, fireplace, washer/dryer, bathroom/shower, microwave, refrigerator and coffee maker, complimentary snacks, oatmeal, and coffee. The decor is wilderness lodge/cabin.

There is a large sitting room which comfortably seats seven on two recliners, a reclining love seat and a couch with two end recliners. The fireplace takes up an entire wall and has a gas/propane log for warmth or ambiance. Lit evergreens nestle in corners to enhance your lodge experience. A four poster queen bed and two pull out twins are ready for four guests and another could comfortably sleep on the large couch. The space is open concept except for the bathroom/shower area. You will have access to 5 acres, a beautiful fire-pit and fountain area, rental of three kayaks if needed and the owners 53 years experience of living in Independence county.

The decor inside the lodge is cabin-like, filled with special antiques and quirky touches, but the real draw is the million dollar views. If fog-filled valleys, turning autumnal leaves or green forests filled with birds and the occasional deer are your thing- this is the place for you!

We both work in the local school district less than five miles away and will be a text or call away. After school hours we will be in the house but unless you want to you should never see us!
