Carolina Cabana is tucked in the Kitty Hawk Woods Coastal Reserve, on a winding maritime forest road. There are two nearby parks, the David Pruitt and Sandy Run parks. A paved multi-use path is perfect for walking, jogging, or biking. The Outer Banks marathons begin within walking distance and athletes can be seen running past the driveway on race days. Nearby Covered Bridge Road leads to a treasure of a wooden covered bridge, where you can enjoy a picnic or watch kayakers paddle under. Paved paths also lead to nearby stores, shopping centers, restaurants, and beach accesses.

I was first introduced to the Outer Banks during family trips with my parents and siblings in the 1970s. My husband, Michael, and I made the move in the late 1980s with our two children and have called it home since. (My daughter, Christina, also assists with messaging and readying the room for guests' enjoyment.) We have watched the area grow over the years and have many favorite tips for sightseeing, restaurants, or fishing spots.

I have been a private piano teacher for over 40 years both in New York and North Carolina. I love reading and watching the Travel and History Channels, daydreaming about my next trip. I have traveled extensively with my students for camp and cultural experiences, most recently to Italy! I also take personal trips to visit family from coast to coast, up and down the eastern shore, and to enjoy our second rental property in the beautiful Prince Edward Island.
