Vaccination required. 100 year old non smoking house on 2 lovely acres with gardens, next to a brook and near some woods, but is just a pleasant walk to the heart of North Sydney. It's a great base from which to explore beautiful Cape Breton Island. The house has many beautiful rooms which you are welcome to use, but we live here, and it is not always kept to the standards of a commercial BNB. We're renovating room by room, so it isn't consistent, but it is an interesting, welcoming home.

NOTE: We are usually happy to let you use the kitchen and any of the other common rooms... but if covid risk factors are present, we will limit this access. You are welcome to play my son's semi-concert grand piano if you know how. The pictured bathroom is exclusively for guests so it might be yours alone or might be shared with guests in the other rental bedroom if it is occupied. There is another bath with shower you can use if the guest bath has to be shared, plus a 1/2 bath downstairs. We have our own private bath ensuite the master bedroom

Two pretty acres with gardens and places to relax outdoors. There is a beautiful brook with a ravine bordering the property. On the other side are acres of woods with walking trails. A twenty minute walk to the ocean, shops and restaurants.

I travel with my cohost, Chris, or friends, or solo, and best of all, with my 20-something year old, Cyrus. We are sometimes adventurous travellers and like exploring rainforests and reefs and things and could happily live in a treehouse.

However, we would have to take trips to the city, because we love culture, too. Cyrus is an amazing musician, physicist and now lives in Ottawa. Chris is a wonderful artist, I do a little of everything, we all walk the boards from time to time and write as well. I manage a justice centre.
We live in a big house on two acres in a semi-rural area on the edge of a small town in Cape Breton, Canada. We have an older cat, Apple, and a younger poodle, Ray Charles. We have been Airbnb hosts for some years now have hosted hundreds of guests, and we have also been host parents to many international students and WWOOF travelers over the past decade. We love to open our home to new friends.
