Come experience the wonderful world of the honeybee where we encourage you to take pictures. We begin our 1 1/2 hour experience near Tampa, Florida. I have several different locations to choose from ranging from Farm to urban areas. The address showing will not necessarily be the place that you will have your experience. I can be flexible as to location. We will begin with a demonstration of the equipment utilized in beekeeping as well as dressing up in our full bee suits and then immediately start the hands-on experience. At this point you will be able to see, feel, hear and touch apis mellifera (the European honey bee!) as I guide you to a better understanding of these amazing creatures. During our time together you will manipulate equipment, ask questions and get a practical appreciation of the bees. After, you will enjoy a refreshment while we discuss your recent experiences. Upon completion, we provide a 5 oz honey jar and honey dipper to say thank you and as a memento of being a beekeper for a day! Things to note: PLEASE BRING BOOTS or Tennis shoes. There is always a chance of getting stung, So if you are allergic to bees please come with your epi-pen or choose a different experience. You will taste the perfect Cuban coffee, experience smoking a cigar like a native cuban, and learn the Cuban cigar ritual—from the old way of lighting it to the proper way to smoke it and make a wish at the Sacred CEIBA Tree. Your 1.5+ hour interactive experience with a bee colony begins with a multimedia overview of the life of a bee and the different jobs a bee has as they mature. Learn the parts of the hive. You’ll see a hive and learn how to hold a frame (without squishing the bees -they don’t like that). We’ll get suited up. Light a smoker. Do a safety check, and approach the hive. At the hive you’ll see and feel the power of propolis (a supplement for humans as well) -- its the glue bees use to seal up the hive. We’ll lift the lid and go inside. For some, that’s might be as far as they want to go. But, if you’re adventurous, we will do a complete hive inspection: Pull frames to see how the bees create honey and keep the colony alive. You’ll see open “wet cells” of nectar that are still in the process of transforming into honey. You’ll see capped honey, tiny freshly laid eggs and all the stages of bee development ( larvae, caped brood, and newly emerging “baby bees”). I’ll show you how beekeepers help control pests (other insects and diseases) and keep the bees healthy so they can do their important work. You’ll hold frames of bees and feel the weight of a full frame of honey when compared to a frame of bees. There’s always time for selfies. Looking for something fun, different, yet also educational? You have come to the right place. You will be fascinated to learn how much more bees are responsible for. Your session will begin with a short introduction to the bees. Afterwards, you will put on protective gear and go inside the Apiary with one of our Beekeepers. You will hold frames of bees, search for the Queen, and learn how to inspect a hive, among other activities. This is the perfect time to take a photo of your experience, so be sure to bring a camera! Enjoy the serenity and beauty of the surrounding landscape. Visit our farm venture into an apiary, and finish up with some raw, local honey. Your kayak and/or paddleboarding trip will explore the intracoastal waterways and marshes of Skull Creek. Skull creek is located between Hilton Head and Pinckney Island National wildlife Refuge. Your educational Lowcountry experience will begin as soon as we walk down the boardwalk learning and observing the ever changing tides. A quick 5-10 minute paddle instruction followed by safely launching everyone into the water is just the fun beginning. Depending on the tide also depends on the direction we go, or flow. Wildlife is in abundance but not also not guaranteed to include dolphin, many birds and anything else we might see on or in the water. This eco-friendly paddle experience is for all ages and may involve getting out of our kayaks/paddleboards to help clean a small stretch of waterway.

We'll begin at the roundabout with the Naiads, 850 on the corner of Dodecanese Blvd and Roosevelt Blvd and walk to Cocoris Park, talk about the Sponging industry and John King Cheney. Then walk to St. Michael's Shrine and learn the story behind the little shrine. On our way back, we'll stop at a bakery that has been around almost 100 years for coffee and pastry. We'll sit and convers about the old timers and their stories about Tarpon. Then walk down to Dodecanese Blvd., and enjoy the World Famous Sponge Docks. Learn about the men and their families that the contributed and supported the industry. Visit the shops and look at all the different types of sponges that are local. Lastly, to the Sponge Exchange where you'll see original warehouse spaces from times past. Let's have fun mingling with the locals!

For this meditative painting experience, we meet on the beach. Listening to the sound of the waves, we start with a mindful breathing exercise to tune in as we explore watercolor combinations. All materials will be included, so join us as you learn to play & apply. Next, you will paint a landscape inspired by the beach or your ideal place of calm. Lastly, you will select & paint a mermaid or make your own image. Putting it all together to "Paint Yourself Calm by the Beach". DID YOU KNOW? The Mermaid is a magical creature which inspires us to release self-consciousness, sing from our hearts and remove inhibitions which hold us back. Mermaid represents transition and transmutation. When we face challenges, it reminds us to steady the waters around us, move beyond discouragement and come to rely on our intuition. Light yoga stretches will be encouraged, because yoga heals.

We will meet as a group and after a brief check-in process and housekeeping announcements, all guests will have the opportunity to browse the art gallery’s wonderful inventory of local arts and fine crafts. Then, everyone will be invited to our classroom, located in the second floor of our venue. Once there, the guests can enjoy complimentary wine and snacks. We will then start the paint in class, which is in follow-along format and lots of fun. All materials are included!
