Connect with Nature in Colorado
I will take you out into the mountains to experience and connect with Colorado on a gorgeous hiking trail! We will usually hike a moderate trail located within 1 hour of our morning meeting spot. This adventure is for all level hikers. Most hikes are a bit challenging, but we will go slow and the views make the adventure well worth it! Our focus will be on immersing ourselves in the vibrancy of nature, so we will take our time and admire the beauty around us! We will walk the trail and experience trees, rocks, snow, and mountain vistas from a new perspective! We can take breaks to admire wildlife and the large and small interconnected communities all around us! In the winter, we will traverse a beautiful snow covered trail up to a scenic view. Microspikes are available if there is any concern about walking in snow or ice. At the top of our trail we will take a relaxing lunch break where you can reflect, hang out, and explore! I will take tons of high quality pictures throughout the experience and send them to you in a google drive folder after your hike. Because of the varying terrain and high altitude in Colorado, the hike may be more challenging depending on your fitness level. I am here to make this a pleasant and memorable day for everyone, so don't hesitate to contact me with any questions or reservations!

Private pottery wheel lesson
After arriving, guests will enjoy a short time of introductions. After being introduced to the space and to each other, I will provide a quick demonstration on the pottery wheel with a small amount of clay. Afterwards, each guest will be allowed time to create a piece on the wheel from beginning to end with personal instruction and assistance from me. Guests are welcome to make anything they would like to on the wheel! Cup, bowl, vase, dish, etc. The firing of pottery is a long process that is completely separate from the time we spend on the wheel. Each piece requires two 8-10 hour monitored sessions in a kiln, and I hand glaze each piece. I offer kiln services out of my personal studio if you have interest in having your piece fired for a small fee that is not due the day of the experience, but when your piece is finished. Message me for details! *The time noted on the experience, 2 hours, is generally descriptive of a 2 person experience which encompasses the majority of my bookings. In general, the experience is 1 hour per person. If there are 3 or 4 people in the booking, likely the experience will extend the 2 hour session time, and if there is 1 person in the booking it will be closer to an hour. Wear comfortable clothing that you don't mind getting some clay on. Clay will wash out, but you may not want to go out right after.
Hiking, sunset and local beer
This hike is located west of Golden, CO and enjoyable at all points throughout the year. It will be lead as the sun is beginning to set with alpenglow views across the front range of the Rocky Mountains. The trail is an out and back trail, that is a total of 3 miles and 2 hours long, rated as moderate. At the summit of this hike, we will spend time in good company enjoying local beer from some of my favorite breweries and watch the sun begin to set. (If you have a favorite type of beer, I am open to suggestions for the hike) I also have a new golden retriever pup, who loves to come along if you are a dog person! Transportation will be provided to and from the hike, meeting at Denver Beer Co (breweries are always great after hiking). This hike is enjoyable in all seasons as it is a year round trail with proper equipment provided. Group size is limited due to car space. If you'd like to do a bigger group and have a means of transportation, just let me know!
Build a hybrid pocket pipe
We will be making one of a kind wood and resin Pocket Pipes from scratch! No kits here! You will start by picking out your wood blanks for your bowl as well as our hybrid stem blanks that will be assembled during our workshop, cut, carved, engraved if you like, polished and finished into something you can really be proud of. Of Course we have to try them out so feel free to bring tobacco or otherwise since this is Colorado...and give them a try! Feel free to bring a friend to observe for FREE! However seating is limited and prioritized for paying participants work order will go: -Pick your wood -Assemble the blanks with glue and clamps -Use the drill press to prep our bowls -Carve, sand, shape the pipes - take a quick beer/wine break -Enjoy your new creation! We will be in my shop (Garage) the entirety of the work time and most of the class primarily using a rotary tool with an extension attachment (makes it like using a pen to carve/sand rather than holding the entire tool) Other things to note Any and all experience levels are welcome, I especially encourage folks who have never tried any wood working. I will always be there to help or step in if any step of the process makes you uncomfortable. I can often accommodate custom time slots as well, just shoot me a message anytime!
