Golden hour kayak on the Hudson River

Join me, an expert adventure guide and Catskills native, for a sunset kayak paddle along the historic Hudson River, looping around the Hudson-Athens Lighthouse as the sky turns pink. Beginners and experienced kayakers are all welcome. • Meet at the kayak launch in Athens, where you’ll get fitted for your gear. I’ll share an overview of our route and run through safety guidelines and paddling techniques. • Off you go! Paddle toward the lighthouse, exploring hidden inlets and spotting wildlife as you go. Along the way, I’ll discuss the history of the lighthouse and this region. • Tide permitting, pause at the Middle Ground Flats, a small forested island, to stretch your legs and take some photos. • As the sun sets, paddle to a scenic spot for quiet reflection and more photos, before heading back to our starting point as dusk settles in. You’ll leave having enjoyed a serene Catskills sunset—and an unforgettable experience on the water.

Scenic coastal tour in an expedition Zodiac - Lunenburg

Are you a road-less-travelled kind of person? Would you like to experience a beautiful, less touristy part of Nova Scotia? Join us for a 2-hour coastal tour through Tanner's Pass and Lunenburg's back passage — a pristine part of the Atlantic Ocean. Our tour is in a professional, 19-foot Zodiac MilPro HD. These popular vessels are the black, inflatable boats you find on expedition ships around the world. They're also the boats we operate as photographers and guides in Antarctica and the Canadian sub-arctic. So what will we see? It is common to see numerous seals, osprey, great blue herons, various sea birds, mink, and deer as we Explore the South Shore. We’ll also talk about flora and geology as we cruise the area. It truly is one of the prettiest parts of Nova Scotia! There are two things we cannot control; wildlife and weather. That said, we keep a close eye on marine weather forecasts and if we have any safety concerns, we will reach out asap. We operate rain or shine so please be prepared to get at least a little wet. Hug A Highland allows guests to visit our family owned and operated farm to brush, love, and take nonprofessional pictures with our Scottish Highlands and miniature donkeys! Guests will be on a real working farm which makes it an educational experience about where and how their food is grown. We will go into the pasture or barn, brushes in hand, to get up close and personal with the animals. During the experience, guests will learn about each individual animal and the history of the farm. Private, Guided Horseback Rides

Prior to your arrival, Nicole will message you and determine what level of experience you have with riding horses. Once you arrive on our property, Nicole and/or Jeff will greet you and already have your horses ready and matched to your level of experience. You will then be led to our riding ring where you will have the opportunity to learn about general horse care and safety. In the riding ring, you will have the opportunity to mount your horse and learn how to steer and control your horse and become comfortable before embarking on the trail ride. Once you are comfortable, you will be guided on a private tour of our 52 acre estate where you will go through woods, open fields, across ridge lines and enjoy being on a horse with breathtaking mountain views. On the ride we will also snap a few complimentary pictures for you to share with friends and family or add to your social media. At the end of your ride, we will help you dismount and you will have the opportunity to love on your horse and snap a few extra last minute selfies.

Horseback riding in the Catskill Mountains

Take a guided horseback riding tour on our 300+ acres of private mountain trails lead by an experienced guide. After signing up and meeting the horses, we will show you the skills you need to ride through our trails. You will be accompanied by an experienced trail guide the entire time. This is a beginner friendly ride, most of the ride is walking, we go at the pace of the least experienced rider in the group. If you would like to do some more trotting, don't want to ride in a group, or are experienced, we recommend booking a private ride. The ride itself is 1 hour long and is done in a western saddle. Please note the minimum age is 7 years old to ride and we have a weight limit of 220lbs. Please feel free to reach out with any questions or requests before booking!

Guided Horseback Experience for small group

Your horse riding experience here at Elite Frontier Adventures includes the following: You will learn to groom, saddle, bridle, sit correctly in the saddle, rein, balance, shift your weight as necessary etc.. on "your" horse for the day. After an orientation ride in our private lower pastures, you will ride with your guide on our private mountain trails. You will cross streams, wind your way up and down several switchbacks, see authentic moonshine sites and pass places such as "Inspiration Point," "Black Bear Saddle," "Gray Fox Gully," and take your horse through "The Bathtub" before emerging back into "Paradise Holler" to end your ride. Unsaddle and give your horse a "thank you" grooming before releasing him back into the pasture until next time. Shoes with a heel or boots are highly recommended. Helmets are provided. Approximately 2-3 hours, depending on group size. Other things to note No experience required. By the end of the ride, you will feel like a pro.

Atlanta Bee Experience

It is said that bees enjoy a secret life, but there is a fascinating story behind that life that should be made available for all to witness! Join us for a "Bee incredible" journey, as we explore the work of Apiarists (Beekeepers). You will be guided on a 1.5 to 2 hour tour (depending on the size of the group) encompassing the miraculous work of bees. Bees undertake the extraordinary important job of helping to mature and grow many of the plants we enjoy and providing a food source - honey - that is globally consumed and universally loved. If you're feeling exceptionally brave, you can don a full protective gear and open a bee hive for a closer look into the habitat of bees, the Brood Box (nest). Observe the Queen bee laying eggs, while learning about the unique roles and responsibilities of drone and worker bees. You'll be able to taste the honeycomb (if available) and sample sweet honey from the source; which has been used for centuries for its naturopathic or medicinal purposes. This tasty, unique and exceptionally enlightening experience in beekeeping is a can't miss opportunity for nature enthusiasts and is appropriate and entertaining for all guests ages 8 and up. If you have a large group and need a special date and time, please send a special request. I am consistently listed as 1 of the top 3 Experiences in Metro Atlanta. You will not be disappointed. Other things to note All participants will need to sign a waiver of risk before the Bee Experience. Starting October 1, 2019 through Spring of 202, all reservations will be subject to weather conditions. Cow Cuddles !!! Bovine/Cow Therapy !!!

Come visit our beautiful docile herd of "Gir" (pronouced "gear") cows ! They are Gujarati indian cows and some of the coolest on earth ! They like people and want your attention (sometimes they demand it!) We will spend time petting, brushing and hugging them. Just being around the cows is very therapeutic, an experience hard to describe ! Come and hang out with some exotic cows and see how they live in a natural biodiverse land project. Currently during this winter to spring season the barn is open from 12-3pm and you can book a 1 hour or more time slot. It's perfectly okay to arrive a little late or stay a little longer, but we try to close around 3pm. If the weather turns especially cold or rainy sometimes we close. But we do have a covered area of the barn so a bit of rain is no trouble. the footing is firm, packed grit, and not muddy typically. but good shoes are, well, good.... Waterfalls Waterfalls Waterfalls

After picking you up at your downtown core Toronto Airbnb, or other convenient location, we will start your adventure to Niagara Falls. Along the way we will stop at picturesque waterfalls, an iconic Canadian cafe chain, and an award-winning winery. During short walks along tree lined paths at these smaller falls, you’ll learn about the geology of the area followed by a stop at a coffee shop chain that has become part of the Canadian identity. Then, we’ll hop in the car and continue to Niagara's wine region, where we will stop for a tasting (including ICE wine) at one of Niagara Regions most award-winning wineries. After a delicious sit-down lunch, we go to the world-famous Niagara Falls where you will bathe in the mist from the Falls as we walk along the rim of the Niagara Gorge. We will have more than enough time for guests to participate in one of these optional self-led activities: the historic Niagara Boat Cruise (April to November) or The Journey Behind the Falls when the boat is not available (December to April) Following our visit to the upper edge of the mighty Horseshoe Falls we will return direct to Toronto. Hike & Highland Cow

Please take time to read thru all details before booking. “This May not be a good fit” - those with Disability or limitation of doing a moderate-difficult hike with steep incline. Those with children < 6 and disabled message us privately to book. We have a tour that may be a better fit. No dogs please as not all dogs like cows. Weather back up plan-don’t worry we will see cows.. but will replace hike with the historic farmhouse tour listed under our experiences. We will meet at front of farm house. We will start at the top of the field walking around our pastures, checking our fences along way enjoying the peacefulness that nature brings and heading into the forest and around the pastures up hills and forest where our highland cows reside. Sharing with you about out breed of cows and what they are known for. We will explore how they interact with each of us their mannerisms and irresistible cuteness. While circling the pastures we have other animals you may interact with that include 5 Scottish highland cows and their calves who were born during the year, our goats &livestock guardian dogs. We will end our visit at the west pasture sharing treats with the animals and petting the cows. Other things to note please Wear good closed toe hiking shoes for hike and clothes you may not mind getting dirty, to interact with animals. Hiking stick, jacket if cold, bottle of water.
